Helaine Smith -- Boston's Best Cosmetic Dentist | Dr. Peter Kwon

Helaine Smith, DMD, PC graduated from Manhattanville College in 1988 and Boston University School of Dental Medicine in 1991. Dr. Smith has had her private practice in Boston's charming West Roxbury neighborhood for ten years. She has advanced training from Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and has earned numerous certificates in advanced training in cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Smith is a member in good standing with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry and the Academy of Forensic Science. She is also a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry -- an award granted to dentists who have more than 500 practice hours and have passed a comprehensive 400-question examination.

Dr. Smith recently completed a full-mouth reconstruction course that only 2% of dentists in the country have taken. She also recently completed an executive MBA program at Suffolk University.

Dr. Smith an active member of Operation Smile and Cape CARES, two groups that send volunteer dentists and physicians all over the world. She has been part of eleven volunteer missions to third world countries working with children with cleft lip and palate as well as with people from remote mountain villages in numerous Latin American countries.

In 2003, Dr. Smith was honored by Boston's radio station, magic 106.7 as an "Exceptional Woman" a prestigious award given to women in the Boston area who have "overcome obstacles to achieve greatness in their lives." Dr. Smith is also involved with the "Give back a smile" program through the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. This program gives financial assistance and dental care to battered women.

Dr. Smith is a member of the board of overseers at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston. She acts as the spokesperson for the hospital and promotes good will.
